ISU students share spring fashion trends | News

Fashion Update

Ever since Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow in February, students at Illinois State University have been planning their spring fashion lineup. Some have even begun wearing their spring outfits since the weather has become somewhat agreeable.

Simple and classic

Junior psychology major Emmanuel Reed prefers to keep his fit simple for the spring season.

“I like to do sweatpants and a hoodie,” Reed said. “I like to feel comfortable. I’m most comfortable in sweatpants and a hoodie.”

Freshman nursing major Julie Weeks agreed on the sweatshirt, preferring to keep things simple.

“My favorite combo is shorts and a sweatshirt so I’m not too hot or too cold,” Weeks said.

Freshman computer science Aaron Rosenberg prefers a classic combination.

“I prefer shorts and a T-shirt,” Rosenberg said. “I think it’s fashionable and it’s nice because it’s not too cold and not too hot.”

Senior business administration major Austin Piercy likes to take on a more athletic look during the springtime.

“My favorite spring fashion item is a crew neck with some athletic shorts,” Piercy said. “It’s just a timeless look, it’s athletic and it’s cool.”

An extra layer

Sophomore computer science major Jess Lyons likes to dress it up with a spring one-piece.

“I like a jumper or a romper because it gets pretty breezy out and I like the feeling of that,” Lyons said.

Sophomore public relations major Abbigail McGee keeps an extra light layer for the spring breeze.

“I like cardigans because it gets kind of breezy and you can take them off and on whenever you want,” McGee said.

A regular T-shirt

Some students like to pair different types of pants with a T-shirt. Freshman history education major Luke Fuller usually keeps it casual for the springtime weather.

“I like sweatpants and a T-shirt – what I’m wearing right now,” Fuller said. “It’s cool enough that you can be warm in sweatpants. It’s less uncomfortable, too.”

“My favorite spring fashion items are a T-shirt and a pair of leggings,” freshman chemistry major Alyssa Donatelli said. “They’re just very comfortable and easy to throw on.”

“I like jean shorts and a normal T-shirt,” freshman special education major Riley Magliano said. “It’s very loose and very warm and not too cold or anything.”
